Business Challenge

A regional fashion retailer needed to migrate from a legacy monolithic ecommerce platform to a scalable, cloud-native architecture ahead of a massive expected peak season traffic surge. The old system was prone to crashing during sales, leading to lost revenue and customer frustration.

Technical Complexity

The legacy codebase was tightly coupled, making partial migration impossible. Data synchronization between the new cloud platform and their on-premise inventory management system had to happen in real-time with sub-second latency.

The Execution

MavnixIT designed a microservices architecture on AWS. We built a headless frontend using Next.js, Node.js APIs for business logic, and MongoDB Atlas for flexible product catalogs. We implemented CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Kubernetes for auto-scaling during traffic spikes.

Quantified Business Impact

  • Page load time reduced from 8.2s to 1.1s
  • Platform handled 400% traffic spike with zero downtime
  • Cart abandonment reduced by 23%
  • 99.99% uptime post-launch
